Godly Play

Sundays 9:15 am, ages 4-12

The result of a lifetime of research and practice by theologian, author and educator, Rev. Dr. Jerome Berryman, the Godly Play method is a curriculum of spiritual practice exploring the mystery of God’s presence in our lives.

Godly Play resumes the first Sunday after Labor Day. Come join us!

Weekly Bible Study

Year-round the St Thomas Wednesday Bible Study is an opportunity to question, grapple, and learn about the Bible. Rather than following a published curriculum, we read and discuss the Bible, one book at a time, reading aloud paragraph by paragraph, listening without judgment or. censure to the concerns and questions of the participants. The Bible Study leader, Rhonda Kindig, whose background is as an educator and teacher trainer, has shepherded the St Thomas Wednesday Bible Study since 2012. If you have a curiosity about what the Bible says, about why the Bible says particular things, or about the teachings to be found in any Bible narrative, this is a class you should try. Every Wednesday, 10:30 – 11:30 am, there will be a seat at the table for you to join the conversation.

Education for Ministry

By exploring where our story, God’s story, the World’s story, and our own understanding intersect, we can glean insights into God’s dream for us, and apply those insights to our lives and our ministry. This exploration is called theological reflection.

Education for Ministry (EfM), provides a safe, nonjudgmental space to learn theological reflection.  A unique four-year certificate program from the University of the South (Sewanee), EfM invites participants into small, mentored groups that provide the framework to practice this important tool while exploring their faith.  EfM helps lay people encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and bring it into conversation with their experiences of the world as they study, worship, and engage in theological reflection together.

Contact the parish office to find out when the next EfM session will be starting.

Youth Ministry

Our youth ministry program provides opportunities for children and teens for Bible Study, social activities, and service. Current service projects include support of the Isaiah I:17 House for youth transitioning into foster care.
